Vote for Nathan CLARKE

for Rochester Township Board

I’ll protect your interests!

Dear Rochester Township Resident,

An extraordinary amount of new development—more than 150 new homes!—is currently underway or coming very soon to our township.  In a township of only about 700 existing homes, this is a very big change.

This development will impact everyone in our township, though some more than others.  It will impact our road traffic, road maintenance, and road safety, and it will impact our aesthetics and property values. Will there be green spaces, parks, or pavilions? Will there be walking trails or wildlife corridors?  Will there be half-acre lots or much larger lots?

The Rochester Township Board makes decisions about land use and development in our township.  I believe it is vital that these decisions be made in a way that protect the interests of township residents.  That’s why I’m running for township board.

My name is Nathan Clarke. I live with my wife Loren and dog Nina in the house on the corner of Wild Rose Lane and Hawk Hill Lane in the Mayowood Hills neighborhood.  I believe my strong background in business and finance will be an asset to the township board, but most important, I really care about our township and want to do this job. I’ve been working hard to prepare myself so that I can hit the ground running and work effectively for you if I’m elected.

One of the things I’ve been doing is to learn all I can about the developments that are planned or underway in our area, including: Mayowood Estates, Mayowood Woodlands, Old Valley Road (the housing development and the proposed sand mine), the Keith Family land, Millie Meadows, Lilly Farms, and Boulder Creek.

I’m also up-to-date on what is happening with 2630 Wild Rose Lane (the “big green structure”), and on where things stand in the conflict between the township board’s development decisions and local residents’ efforts to “Save the Rookery.”

If you would like to talk about any of these issues or others, I’d love to talk to you by phone (507-316-2864), in person, by email, or in a neighborhood Zoom meeting I’m hosting on Wednesday, March 2, at 8PMClick here for details. If you can’t make the meeting or would prefer to chat by phone, let me know and I’ll get back to you promptly.
